چکیده
Colorectal cancer is the fourth most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death. About 96,830 new cases of colon cancer and approximately 40,000 cases of rectal cancer will occur and 50,310 people will die of colon and rectal cancer combined[1]. The long term survival rate of colon cancer patients treated by conventional modalities such as surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy remains far from satisfactory[2]. Colon cancer cells are only the modestly responsive or even nonresponsive to the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapeutic agents[3]. The term “chemo sensitization” was originally introduced as a strategy to counter the development of resistance in tumor cells to anticancer chemotherapeutic agents. Simply put, chemo sensitization in cancer therapy involves use of a chemical 1PG & Research Department of Zoology, Muslim Arts College, Thiruvithancode, Tamilnadu, India 2PG & Research Department of Zoology, Government Nandanam Arts College Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 3Department of Biochemistry, Theivanai Ammal College for Women Villupuram, Tamilnadu, India

Curcumin-loaded poly lactic-co-glycolic acid nanoparticles effects on mono-iodoacetate -induced osteoarthritis in rats
Curcumin has been found to be very efficacious against many different types of diseases. However, the major disadvantage associated with the use of curcumin is its low systemic bioavailability. In the present study the protective effects of curcumin-loaded poly lactic-co-glycolic acid nanoparticles (nanocurcumin) against mono-iodoacetate-induced osteoarthritis in rats was inves...
متن کاملEffects of Ultrasound Irradiation on the Release Profile of 5-fluorouracil from Magnetic Polylactic co-glycolic Acid Nanocapsules
Background: Drug nano-carriers are one of the most important tools for targeted cancer therapy so that undesired side effects of chemotherapy drugs are minimized. In this area, the use of ultrasound can be helpful in controlling drug release from nanoparticles to achieve higher treatment efficiency. Objective: Here, we studies the effects of ultrasound irradiation on the release profile of 5-flu...
متن کاملLoading of Gentamicin Sulfate into Poly (Lactic-Co-Glycolic Acid) Biodegradable Microspheres
Objective: In dental treatments, use of carriers for targeted antibiotic delivery would be optimal to efficiently decrease microbial count. In this study, gentamicin was loaded into polylactic co-glycolic acid (PLGA) microspheres and its release pattern was evaluated for 20 days. Methods: In this experimental study, PLGA microspheres loaded with gentamycin were produced by the W/O/W method....
متن کاملPreparing Poly (Lactic-co-Glycolic Acid) (PLGA) Microspheres Containing Lysozyme-Zinc Precipitate Using a Modified Double Emulsion Method
Lysozyme, as a model protein, was precipitated through the formation of protein-Zn complex to micronize for subsequent encapsulation within poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microspheres. Various parameters, including pH, type and concentration of added salts and protein concentration, were modified to optimize the yield of protein complexation and precipitation. The resulting protein parti...
